American Kestrel

(Falco sparverius)

Nests in cavities; may use a tree cavity,hole in the side of a cliff, artificial nest box, or cavities on the side of buildings. The only North American falcon that regularly perches on telephone wires. In the southern part of its range breeding pairs may raise two broods of young in one year.
